Andy Speedie

Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1988 and after 2 years in industry, Andy commenced his career in investment management by joining Scottish Amicable in 1990.  His various roles in accounting & administration, IT, compliance and property financial analysis, led to a number of senior board appointments over the years.  Most notable was his appointment as Finance Director of Aberdeen Property Investors International, a company spanning 5 countries, with over 250 employees and assets under management in excess of £6bn.

On many occasions Andy has participated at director level of companies and vehicles established to pursue a particular client investment objective.  As director of Chiswick Park Estate Management Limited he saw the creation of a leading and innovative major business park in Chiswick, London. As director of Kilgarth Development Company, he led the planning application for 1.8 million square feet of rail served distribution warehouses in Central Scotland.

The accountant in the team, Andy has over 20 years’ experience of structuring and financing clients of all shapes and sizes investing in property.  He has extensive experience in compliance matters and established Magarch as a regulated entity with the Financial Conduct Authority.

Outside of work, Andy previously coached and refereed rugby, developing a thick skin in the process.  He has now hung up his whistle.  Instead, Andy is now studying Mandarin through the Confucius Institute at the University of Glasgow.

Having been a Trustee and the Treasurer of Revive MS Support, a charity which supports people suffering from or affected by Multiple Sclerosis, Andy has recently stepped down from both roles after a 6 year term.  Andy remains involved with the charity in its fund raising activities and ran the 2019 London Marathon in aid of Revive, raising over £3,000. Andy hopes to join another charity in the near future.
